Maxine Waters on "Cut and Run"

Maxine Waters appeared on FOX news to put forward her Iraq proposal.

When Wallace came at her with the standard claims of "cut and running." When he suggested it emboldened terrorist, she had a response ready.

Crooks and Liars
(They have the video as well.):
"Well, I think cut and run is a kind of language that has been used by this administration and others to intimidate those of us who are responding to the American people's desire to get our soldiers out of Iraq. Our soldiers are dying every day. Civilians are dying by the thousands - uh, in Iraq. I just don't want to wake up one morning to find that they have bombed one of our compounds and hundreds of our soldiers have been killed."

Why, if we stay is it a good message? The cut and run motif silently implies this. If we pull out, we are fleeing and lose. So, if we stay...it must be that we will win. But why? If we stay, the fighting continues. The arguments continue. The rivalries continue. When in history has stubbornness been the key? Especially for the conquorering armies. That is the trouble.

Now if we were called in, we were there to just help out, we could do something. But as it is we are a symbol. To some heroes, to others monsters. It is not a good situation.
