McCain wants to say what needs to be said...

...to win the argument.

Sen. John McCain in the past few years, but a hard press this last day, has made a lot of claims about Iraq. He has been claiming that things are going amazingly well in Iraq. He says much of Baghdad is safe. He says the US military leader rides around the city in an unarmored vehicle, cause things are just so safe.

Suffice to say, people in country have been at a loss as to what the hell McCain in talking about.

In the Green Zone. the safe of the safe zones in the country has new rules in place, like no one without flack jackets outside. Also, no congregating at certain former party spots.

That doesn't sound so good.

And then on the military leader in Iraq, General Patraeus.
I checked with General Petraeus' people overnight and they said he never goes out in anything less than an up armored Humvee. You also told Bill Bennett on his radio program on Monday..you said there are neighborhoods in Baghdad where you and I could walk through those neighborhood today, yet retired General Barry McCaffrey said no Iraqi government official, coalition soldier, diplomat reporter could walk the streets of Baghdad without heavily armed protection.

So where the hell is McCain getting his info? Maybe he's going to whatever source Bush goes to, in the hopes it'll make him president.
